Founded in 2007 by Mike and Niloufer, Chemsynergy began as a small, family-run chemical distribution business in Ontario, Canada. Over the years, it has grown into a trusted partner for industrial and specialty chemicals, ingredients for Personal Care & Food across North America — built on deep technical knowledge, exceptional service, and a strong set of family values.
“We started out with just one employee,” Mike recalls. “Slowly but steadily, we built our business on relationships, trust, and doing the right thing — even when no one’s watching.”
That commitment to integrity, adaptability, and customer care has shaped Chemsynergy’s reputation and its place within the INDIS Group, which it joined in 2009.
A Growing Portfolio, Grounded in Expertise
Chemsynergy’s journey began with a focus on industrial chemicals, but its portfolio has expanded to include personal care, cosmetics, and food ingredients — with future growth aimed at nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals.
The company’s strength lies in what it calls strategic sourcing: using its global network and in-house regulatory expertise to identify reliable, compliant, and sustainable supply solutions.
“We have an experienced team with worldwide connections,” explains Sean, who rejoined the company in 2021 after earning his CPA and working at RBC and KPMG. “Even if we’re not active in a particular line, we have the knowledge to source strategically and stay ahead of regulatory shifts.”
That proactive mindset has helped Chemsynergy thrive in a fast-changing global landscape, ensuring customers receive not just products — but foresight and partnership.

For Mike and Sean, being part of INDIS Group extends that sense of family into an international community.
“What I enjoy most is having peers who go through similar challenges,” Mike explains. “It’s a peer support group — a place where you can share ideas openly and learn from each other.”
While the company currently collaborates mainly with INDIS members in North America and Korea, they see new opportunities emerging as Chemsynergy expands into the food and nutraceutical sectors.
“The network is full of people we can call on,” Sean adds. “In our industry, you can’t always be transparent with local peers — but within INDIS, you can. That’s incredibly valuable.”
Shared Experiences and Lasting Connections
Like many INDIS members, Mike treasures the friendships and memories made beyond business meetings.
“Australia and Costa Rica are probably my favourite conferences,” he smiles. “Australia especially — we stayed for three weeks and toured the country after the event. It’s those shared experiences that make the group so special.”
