From humble beginnings in Prague to a trusted European supplier of specialty chemicals, Alchimica has built its reputation on curiosity, adaptability, and a deep commitment to people — both customers and partners.
Founded in 1996, the company began as a small, independent venture built on personal relationships and problem-solving. What started as a few customer-driven product requests quickly evolved into a wide-ranging business that today spans specialty chemicals, food ingredients, and pharmaceuticals.
“Our portfolio was always created by our customers,” Pavel explains. “They told us what they needed — and we found it for them. That’s still our philosophy.”
Built on Adaptability and Trust
Over nearly three decades, Alchimica has remained agile, responding to market needs while growing its expertise across multiple sectors. The company now operates from two locations in the Czech Republic — its headquarters in Prague and a food division and warehouse east of the city, where it stocks goods for both domestic and international customers.
The business employs 17 people and continues to expand steadily across Europe, with growing activity in Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, and Italy. Despite its growth, Alchimica’s hallmark remains its personal, responsive service.
“My customers can call me in the evening, and I’m happy to speak to them,” Pavel says. “I appreciate that in business — relationships built on trust and reliability.”
Learning and Growing Together
When Alchimica joined INDIS Group in 1998, the business was still young. The network offered something more than new markets — it offered friendship and shared experience.
“In the beginning of my business, it was essential to be there,” he says. “I found friends who helped me grow, and I will never forget it.”
Today, Pavel still considers the INDIS meetings one of the highlights of his year. For him, the value lies less in transactions and more in relationships that have stood the test of time — relationships that have seen his sons join the company, continuing the family legacy into a new generation.
Evolving for the Future
As Alchimica approaches its 30th anniversary, the company is focused on efficiency, process improvement, and broader European visibility. Pavel’s vision for the future is to empower his sons to take on greater responsibility while he transitions to a guiding role — “the chairman with a long cigar,” he jokes.
“We’re working on many internal changes — new systems, better management, more automation,” he explains. “My goal is to make the company more efficient, more stable, and more successful abroad.”
Shared Experiences That Last
After nearly three decades of INDIS membership, Pavel has collected countless memories from conferences around the world — each one meaningful in its own way.
“It’s hard to choose a favourite,” he says, laughing. “But maybe New Zealand. I was there with my older son, who was 10 at the time. It was such a special experience.”
For him, INDIS is much more than a business network.
“It’s 99% social for me,” Pavel admits. “Even if I don’t make business with my friends, I’m still there — because of the people, the friendship, and the shared values.”
That sense of warmth, loyalty, and connection — between family, colleagues, and friends — continues to define both Alchimica and its long-standing place in the INDIS community.
